PM Dr. Abiy Ahmed visits victims of grenade explosion at two hospitals in the capital Addis Ababa.
 

A grenade was thrown near the stage where the Premier was sitting to attend a rally in his support. He was whisked away to safety but one person was killed and 168 injured, according to a statement by police.

Doctors say the injuries to 15 people were critical. Doctors also said they might need to amputate the legs of two victims. Injuries to the head of one person was described as very serious. 

The rally was organized in support of the Prime Minister who is credited for undertaking reforms in political and economic fields as well as in releasing thousands of political prisoners including leading members of opposition groups.
